Noxiuz Lifestyle Clothing, a Puerto Rican brand of "street
wear", debuted at the infamous New York Fashion Week on Thursday September 4,
at the Fashion Collective Gallery at the Helen Mills Theater in Chelsea. This
was the first time a local "street wear" brand has presented in NYFW.
For the runway, Noxiuz presented their spring/summer
2015, ‘The Lifestyle’ inspired by
1980's electro and retro/modern vision of digital design as envisaged in the
80s. With colorful pieces at the collections center, the brand excelled
from the rest of the designers that opted for sober and cool colors. "We want to present our Caribbean heritage" said
Juan Alejandro, one of the designing duo of the brand, "what better way than to bring all
the bright colors and fruits that are part of the tropical style of Puerto
Rico".
For the runway the
designers, presented graphic tees, scarves, socks, shorts and linen pants. "We
dress the classic man who enjoys fashion and pop culture, but with a tropical
and urban touch" said Nelson Hernandez, the other designing half of the brand.
Noxiuz creations are limited, since they do not produce more than 60 items of each of their products. The local designers have also collaborated with other local brands and designers of the likes of Luis Antonio, which also presented in this year’s MBNYFW and renowned tattoo artist Juan Salgado.
