[Runway] The Blonds: Beauty and the Beach | PRHFW S/S '13

Glitz and glamour is an understatement when talking about the creations of designers  David and Philippe Blond of The Blonds. After seeing the show, it’s difficult not to run out and buy your first Swarovski studded corset and killer studded stilettos. The designing pair made their debut in the Caribbean at the Puerto Rico High Fashion Week [PRHFW] S/S ’13 edition and it was everything but less than amazing, to say the least.

Beauty and the Beach, the high end spring summer debut of the designing duo was right on track when they brought their swimwear designs to the infamous runways of the island. A playful take to the jaw-sque theme of their creations brought the stage to life. The flashy collection featuring leather, latex, studs, seashells, seaweed inspired fringe, floral motif, bullets, pearls and swarovski crystals were eye catching and stunning.  The jaw opened blood splattered corset was one of the highlights of the night, with its playfulness and edge. Tiny seashell bikinis leaving almost anything to the imagination, shark fin incrusted caps, and did we mention swarovski crystals galore? The Blonds bold and stunning collection left us wanting more. Did we mention Philippe’s walk down the runway in a breathtaking swarovski and jeweled studded jumpsuit?

Hair and makeup were sexy and sultry; straighten locks, smokey eyes and pale lips with beautifully contoured cheek bones by Beyond Salon. Beauty and the Beach was a dream come true, the perfect mesh of fashion and rock and roll. I Just hope the designing duo come back next season and show us what’s in store for their next collection.
