[News] Winners of the Elite Model Look Puerto Rico '12

And so the 2013 spring summer edition of fashion week begins, with the most prestigious model competition in the world, Elite Model Look Puerto Rico. 40 talented and beautiful models competed for the opportunity to become an international model for the chace of a lifetime.

The hosts of the competition were models Larissa Santiago, Laura Irizarry and Ramon ‘Gato’ Gomez. The judge’s panel cosisted of Designer Eddie Guerrero, Top Model Christian Trenche, the current Miss Intercontinental ’12 Genesis Davila, John Bilboa Director of Elite Models Latin and South America, Jean Pierre Begon VP of Elite International and Tita Hasbún Director of Caribbean Fashion Week.

This edition the first ever selection of male models competed for the chance to travel to New York and meet with international model scouts for the opportunity of a lifetime.  The models showcased swimwear by Eddie Guerrero, extremely colorful and completely spring inspired. They also had the opportunity to flaunt the designs of Jose Raul, a mixture of military inspired evening wear with a casual twist.

The female contestants competed for the title of the Elite Model Puerto Rico 2012 and to represent the island at the grand finale being held at Shanghai, China and the chance to become and international supermodel. They showcased designs from swimwear designer Shalimar LaTorre and her line Dulce Limón, with funky and sexy Brazilian designs. They also showcased the collection of Dominican designer straight of the runways of Caribbean Fashion Week, Amaury Matos. His designs were full of Caribbean flavor with tinges of orange and yellows, neutrals that added sleekness and sophistication to his designs. Juliana Abislaimán presented her collection Shappy Chic, Sultry, sexy and sleek for any woman to envy and feel desired; she is one to watch,

The winners of the Elite Model Look were Emmanuel Maldonado and Paola Roman. They now have the heavy task to pursue their dreams and the amazing opportunity to become the next big thing! Naomy and I will be sponsoring them with their portfolio development for their new venture and can’t wait to get started.
