[NEWS] 'BLOQUEO' finalist @ Festival de Cine Europeo

I just got the news my short film, Bloqueo, was selected as finalist in Reto 48 Horas and official selection at the IV Festival de Cine Europeo, to be presented throughout the 14th-20th March 2013 in Fine Arts Miramar

Official promotional poster for BLOQUEO.

BLOQUEO is the story of an actor who cannot seem to connect to a character in a play he intends to audition for, and his journey as he little by little connects with the role. It was written and acted by Benjamín Cardona, and co-directed by him and myself (Naomy Quiñones). It also features a special appearance by the very talented actress, Isabel Arraiza. In the Art Direction department and also credited with the story is Ken Chinea, our company's current prop stylist and very dear friend. Last but not least, we owe our wonderful editing and Premier-magic to Alejandro Villalba from Visible Spectrum Films, who did a marvelous job of being able to stand Benja and myself in a room for more than 12 consecutive hours.

Hecho en Europa is an annual film festival organized by the Alliance Françiase Puerto Rico. This year, over 30 international feature-length films will be shown; featuring movies from all parts of Europe. Also, and for the very first time, the festival will have a competing showcase of feature and short films from Puerto Rico. Besides the screening, the festival will bring a Symposium that will take place in different educational institutes, which cover different aspects of movie-making and are completely free of cost.

We would also like to extend our congratulations (and give a shout-out) to our colleagues Rosco (Juan Jaime), Hiram Delgado and Gabriel Leyva for their short Hallando a Clara; which will be screened alongside our project. We hope to see you the 20th March for the final announcement of the winners!
